This delightful hotel (formerly a 16th Century Palace of the Marquis of Ferrandell) stands in the centre of Palma by the Plaza Rei Juan Carlos I and really does typify the “other Mallorca”. The entrance is an oasis of calm with the numerous plants and splendid columns supporting moorish arches, more than hinting at this aged building’s regal past. All rooms have en suite bathroom, central heating, satellite television and air conditioning.There is no lift. A rather unique feature of the Hotel Born is the old fashioned classic courtyard in the heart of the hotel offering peaceful, attractive surroundings. The bedrooms facing onto the courtyard are much quieter than those looking over the side street (all but one of the large doubles have court view). Additionally, the hotel is near an underground municipal car park which really is a boon for a central, city hotel. The hotel only offers bed and breakfast as numerous bars and restaurants are available within easy walking distance. A superb find representing excellent value for money.
