Deià is the perfect location from which to explore, with or without a car, the nearby towns of Sóller and Valldemossa and the whole unspoilt north coast of the island.  It is also a great base for walkers who appreciate the central heating in the cooler autumn, winter and spring months.  A 15 minute walk downhill leads one to the pretty, rocky beach though it has to be said that the walk back is rather heavy going! Self-catering accommodation in Deia, particularly of this quality, is hard to find which makes Las Casitas very popular year round.
