Clinging to the cliffs of the rugged northwest coastline, only a couple miles from the picturesque and historic Valldemossa, El Encinar is a fairly modern conversion of spacious apartments and double bedrooms. A rather unconventional pool is a wonderful addition, very large with virtually no added chemicals and constantly fed from a local spring. Alternatively swimming is possible at the picturesque port Valldemossa, a 20 min drive away, with small rocky beach, tiny harbour and little restaurant. A bar and nearby restaurant serve traditional breakfasts and dinner is on a buffet basis though if required, Valldemossa is 3km away (possible to walk along the road but there is no pavement) where a much larger choice exists. Both the apartments and doubles have a similar style and all are air conditioned and central heated with satellite TV and hairdryer, all basically furnished but nicely finished. The  suites additionally have a minibar, safe and large balcony with spectacular sea views whilst the apartments comprise: twin with living/dining room, double sofa bed, kitchenette (2 ring hob and microwave, kettle and fridge), bath/wc and 2 large balconies, one facing the mountains and road, the other with spectacular sea views. The owner whilst not often seen makes his presence felt with his artwork, almost every room has an oil painted local vista adorning the wall! There is a car park and plenty of space to admire the gorgeous views from the wooded gardens. Two things to point out, firstly that the photographs do absolutely no justice and secondly that the Soller tunnel reduced passing traffic by 75%, the nights are very quiet indeed. Peaceful, extremely good value and staggering views!
